This is a selection, not the whole floor
Our North Bethesda showroom carries hundreds more waterproof flooring samples across a dozen major brands, and we can order well beyond what is on display. If you have a colour, width, or finish in mind that is not shown here, ask. There is very likely a sample waiting for you.
Waterproof flooring eliminates the worry of spills, pet accidents, and moisture damage. It is the smart choice for active households and moisture-prone spaces.
Liquids bead up on the surface and never penetrate to the subfloor, no matter how long they sit.
Accidents, water bowls, and muddy paws are no match for waterproof flooring. Cleans up instantly.
Without moisture absorption, waterproof floors resist mold and mildew growth even in humid environments.
No special sealants or treatments needed. Simple sweeping and mopping keep your floors looking new.
The most versatile waterproof flooring on the market. Luxury vinyl plank rigid-core and WPC (wood polymer composite) planks feature a 100% waterproof core that will never swell, warp, or buckle from water exposure. Available in realistic wood and stone visuals with embossed textures.
Best for: Whole-home installations, kitchens, bathrooms, basements, and laundry rooms.
Learn moreFired at extremely high temperatures, porcelain tile has a water absorption rate below 0.5%, making it virtually impervious to water. Ideal for bathrooms, kitchens, mudrooms, and outdoor spaces. Available in wood-look planks, marble looks, and modern large-format designs.
Best for: Bathrooms, shower floors, kitchens, entryways, and outdoor patios.
Learn moreNext-generation waterproof laminate flooring features sealed edges and water-resistant HDF cores that can handle spills and splashes without damage. While not suitable for standing water, waterproof laminate bridges the gap between traditional laminate and LVP.
Best for: Living rooms, bedrooms, and hallways where occasional spills are a concern.
Learn moreSheet vinyl comes off a wide roll and goes down in one continuous piece, so a bathroom or laundry room has few seams or none for water to find. Mannington Platinum is a 130 mil waterproof sheet in marble, stone and patterned-tile looks.
Best for: Bathrooms, laundry rooms, commercial kitchens, and healthcare facilities.
Learn moreSeamless epoxy and polyaspartic coatings create a completely waterproof barrier over concrete. These coatings are chemical-resistant, extremely durable, and available in decorative finishes including metallic, flake, and solid colors.
Best for: Basements, garages, commercial kitchens, and industrial spaces.
Learn moreFall rain, wet leaves, pets, and seasonal storms put extra moisture into entries, basements, kitchens, and laundry rooms. The timing fits the Washington area's shift from humid weather to heating season. Waterproof flooring simplifies cleanup and adds protection in vulnerable spaces. Proper subfloor, perimeter, and transition work remain essential for reliable performance.
When shopping for waterproof flooring, look for products with a rigid SPC (stone polymer composite) core rather than WPC (wood polymer composite). SPC is denser, more stable in temperature extremes, and provides a more solid feel underfoot.
Even with waterproof flooring, address the source of any water intrusion. Waterproof floors protect against spills and splashes, but persistent leaks or flooding should be fixed at the source for a healthy home.
Starting at $4 per sq ft installed
LVP offers the best value at $4–$10/sq ft. Tile ranges from $8–$20/sq ft. Waterproof laminate $5–$9/sq ft. Price depends on product quality and installation method.
Pricing updated March 2026
The main waterproof flooring options are: luxury vinyl plank/tile (LVP/LVT), porcelain/ceramic tile, waterproof laminate, and rubber flooring. Each has different aesthetics, price points, and performance characteristics. LVP is the most popular choice for DMV homes.
LVP and tile are truly waterproof — the material itself will not absorb water. However, water can seep through seams if not properly installed. We ensure tight seam integrity during installation. Waterproof laminate resists surface moisture but can be damaged by standing water.
Any moisture-prone area: bathrooms, kitchens, laundry rooms, basements, entryways, and mudrooms. Many DMV homeowners install waterproof LVP throughout their entire home for worry-free living, especially with pets and kids.
Waterproof flooring (LVP, tile) can withstand standing water indefinitely without damage. Water-resistant flooring (treated laminate, some engineered hardwood) handles splashes and brief exposure but can be damaged by prolonged water contact.
We provide waterproof flooring services throughout the DMV region.
Upgrade to waterproof flooring and enjoy peace of mind in every room. We help you find the perfect waterproof solution for your home and budget.

5.0on Google“We had a last minute major issue in the flooring we selected from another flooring installer on our kitchen renovation and addition. We had initially loved another flooring choice that we saw at 2020 Flooring. Unfortunately we found out it had been discontinued. Carol from 2020 Flooring went above and beyond to help us locate the amount of LVP flooring we needed by scouring the country. She found just the right amount and was able to get the order expedited so we could continue on the time schedule with our general contractor. Bobby from 2020 Flooring was great in helping us remedy an issue with the subfloor. We now have the exact flooring we wanted which has made our new kitchen and addition complete. Can't thank them enough!”
“As an architect, from the moment we walked into 2020 Flooring, upon seeing a standout recommendation on NextDoor, I was immediately impressed with Bobby and Carol's technical expertise, friendliness and professionalism. They asked the right questions, took their time to weigh flooring options for us without pressure and worked hard to meet our budget for new floors for our townhome. They committed to a date for installation and made it work. Their crew, led by Mariano, was highly competent, discrete, meticulous and worked long hours to complete the job in time. They stand by their work proudly and their warranty is better than anyone else's. Our new floors are fabulous and we wholeheartedly recommend 2020 Flooring!”
“I spent many hours trying to select a quality vinyl floor with the right color combination for my house and Carol at IDESIGN made the job easy with a great selection that I am very satisfied with. In general IDESIGN carries a good selection of quality floors but the added value of Carol's design expertise made the difference and I greatly benefited from her help. Thanks Carol😊”
