Bathroom Flooring Installation

Create the bathroom of your dreams with flooring that handles daily moisture, looks beautiful, and feels great underfoot. From classic tile to warm heated floors.

Bathroom Flooring Options

Bathrooms require flooring that stands up to constant moisture, splashing water, and high humidity. Every option we offer is designed for wet environments.

Porcelain & Ceramic Tile

The most popular bathroom flooring choice for good reason. Porcelain and ceramic tile are completely waterproof, available in every size and style, and can mimic the look of marble, wood, or concrete. We offer expert installation including waterproof membrane systems for shower floors and wet areas.

Waterproof Luxury Vinyl

Waterproof LVP and LVT bring warmth and comfort to bathrooms where tile feels too cold. Modern waterproof vinyl is designed specifically for wet areas, with sealed edges and waterproof cores that prevent moisture penetration even around toilets and tubs.

Natural Stone

Marble, travertine, and slate create a luxurious spa-like bathroom atmosphere. When properly sealed and maintained, natural stone is an excellent long-term bathroom flooring investment that adds significant value to your home.

Unique natural patterns
Lifetime durability when sealed

Heated Floor Systems

We install electric radiant heating mats beneath tile and stone bathroom floors for year-round warmth underfoot. Nothing beats stepping onto a warm floor during a cold Maryland winter morning. Compatible with programmable thermostats for energy efficiency.

Professional Waterproofing

Waterproof Membranes

We install Schluter DITRA, RedGard, and other industry-leading waterproof membranes beneath tile to protect your subfloor from moisture damage.

Proper Slope & Drainage

Shower floors and wet areas are expertly sloped to drains. We build mud beds and install linear drains for curbless shower designs.

Sealed Joints & Transitions

Every seam, corner, and transition is sealed with flexible waterproof materials to prevent water from reaching the subfloor.

Expert Tips From Our Installers

For bathroom floors, choose tiles with a textured or matte finish rather than polished. Polished tile is dangerously slippery when wet. Look for a COF (coefficient of friction) rating of 0.42 or higher for bathroom floor safety.

Bathroom Flooring FAQs

What is the best flooring for bathrooms?

Porcelain tile is the gold standard for bathroom flooring — waterproof, durable, and available in endless designs. Luxury vinyl plank is an excellent budget-friendly alternative that's warmer underfoot. Both are ideal for DMV bathrooms.

Is luxury vinyl plank good for bathrooms?

Yes, rigid-core LVP is 100% waterproof and works excellently in bathrooms. It's warmer and softer underfoot than tile, easier to install, and available in beautiful stone and wood looks. We recommend it for half-baths and guest bathrooms especially.

How do you handle the transition between bathroom and hallway flooring?

We use T-molding or reducer strips that create a clean transition between different flooring types and heights. For a seamless look, many clients extend the same tile or LVP from the bathroom into the hallway. We handle all transitions professionally.

Do you remove the toilet for bathroom floor installation?

Yes, we remove and reinstall the toilet as part of every bathroom floor project. This ensures the flooring extends properly under and around the toilet flange. We replace the wax ring during reinstallation.

We had a last minute major issue in the flooring we selected from another flooring installer on our kitchen renovation and addition. We had initially loved another flooring choice that we saw at 2020 Flooring. Unfortunately we found out it had been discontinued. Carol from 2020 Flooring went above and beyond to help us locate the amount of LVP flooring we needed by scouring the country. She found just the right amount and was able to get the order expedited so we could continue on the time schedule with our general contractor. Bobby from 2020 Flooring was great in helping us remedy an issue with the subfloor. We now have the exact flooring we wanted which has made our new kitchen and addition complete. Can't thank them enough!

As an architect, from the moment we walked into 2020 Flooring, upon seeing a standout recommendation on NextDoor, I was immediately impressed with Bobby and Carol's technical expertise, friendliness and professionalism. They asked the right questions, took their time to weigh flooring options for us without pressure and worked hard to meet our budget for new floors for our townhome. They committed to a date for installation and made it work. Their crew, led by Mariano, was highly competent, discrete, meticulous and worked long hours to complete the job in time. They stand by their work proudly and their warranty is better than anyone else's. Our new floors are fabulous and we wholeheartedly recommend 2020 Flooring!

I spent many hours trying to select a quality vinyl floor with the right color combination for my house and Carol at IDESIGN made the job easy with a great selection that I am very satisfied with. In general IDESIGN carries a good selection of quality floors but the added value of Carol's design expertise made the difference and I greatly benefited from her help. Thanks Carol😊
