Bathroom Flooring Options

Bathrooms require flooring that stands up to constant moisture, splashing water, and high humidity. Every option we offer is designed for wet environments.

Porcelain & Ceramic Tile

The most popular bathroom flooring choice for good reason. Porcelain and ceramic tile are completely waterproof, available in every size and style, and can mimic the look of marble, wood, or concrete. Professional Waterproofing

Waterproof Membranes

We install Schluter DITRA, RedGard, and other industry-leading waterproof membranes beneath tile to protect your subfloor from moisture damage.

Proper Slope & Drainage

Shower floors and wet areas are expertly sloped to drains. We build mud beds and install linear drains for curbless shower designs.

Sealed Joints & Transitions

Every seam, corner, and transition is sealed with flexible waterproof materials to prevent water from reaching the subfloor.

Expert Tips From Our Installers

For bathroom floors, choose tiles with a textured or matte finish rather than polished. Polished tile is dangerously slippery when wet. Look for a COF (coefficient of friction) rating of 0.42 or higher for bathroom floor safety.

Bathroom Flooring FAQs

What is the best flooring for bathrooms?

Porcelain tile is the gold standard for bathroom flooring — waterproof, durable, and available in endless designs. Luxury vinyl plank is an excellent budget-friendly alternative that's warmer underfoot. Both are ideal for DMV bathrooms.

Is luxury vinyl plank good for bathrooms?

Yes, rigid-core LVP is 100% waterproof and works excellently in bathrooms. It's warmer and softer underfoot than tile, easier to install, and available in beautiful stone and wood looks. We recommend it for half-baths and guest bathrooms especially.

How do you handle the transition between bathroom and hallway flooring?

We use T-molding or reducer strips that create a clean transition between different flooring types and heights. For a seamless look, many clients extend the same tile or LVP from the bathroom into the hallway. We handle all transitions professionally.

Do you remove the toilet for bathroom floor installation?

Yes, we remove and reinstall the toilet as part of every bathroom floor project. This ensures the flooring extends properly under and around the toilet flange. We replace the wax ring during reinstallation.
